Unicorns
Unicorns are the purest mythical creature, so much so that only people who are pure of heart and soul may touch them.
Unicorns are horses a single, long horn on their foreheads. They are usually white or silver, and their horns gold or silver.
Unicorn's horns can purify water and air. They also have the power to heal. Unfortunatly, the unicorn's horn can heal whether it is attached to a unicorn or not. Many are hunted and killed for this reason. Unicorn picture below; by Susan J. Dawe |

Pegasi
Pegasi are winged horses, a bit like unicorns. They are generally white or silver, but have been known to be other colours too. Pegasi, unlike unicorns, will let generally anyone touch them, and will sometimes even take them flying.

Pegacorns/Unipegs/Alicorns
Pegacorns, also known as unipegs or alicorns, are unicorns with wings. (Or pegasi with horns, depending on how you want to look at it.) They can be tamed easier that either pegasi or unicorns, and are sometime put to work as winged mounts. One story I've read says a mage created the first pegacorn, wanting a winged mount with the powers of a unicorn.
